The theory makes sense but the timing just doesn't work out. You can't turn up the tempo that high, and good Pharah/Ashe/Hog players will still find value while you desperately try to kill their tankline. I don't think you can AVOID playing Hog now in the 2020 playoffs.
Map dependent, obviously, but there are some situations where you'll simply have to mirror the Hog. If you try running Winston/DVa constantly then one little swap to Zen and suddenly you're getting pounded again.
What do you think about the hog changes that they reverted? Will that patch be in any of the matches?
the hog changes won't go into OWL this season we won't change patches at all until next season
Shock’s reverse sweep against Justice (particularly volskaya) was driven by Ans hitting constant scoped criticals on the tanks, reigning in their aggression. I really thought KSP would do the same (and did on Busan) but then was on Sombra for the rest of the series.

@SideshowGaming why would you say hog us still viable despite him (at least on paper) being worse than before his buff? or would you say it’s similar to pre-buff?
Current playoffs patch should have more damage per shot as hog, meaning he can consistently take out all 200 and 250 hp heroes. Double shield also got nerfed super hard, so there's not much to block the hooks anymore. No DS is the bigger factor, extra damage makes him a monster.
