Yup. I’ve only read the first book though. I’ve read it many times, and I really enjoy it. Couldn’t tell you why I never dove into any of the sequels.
The direct sequel is a disassembly of the hero myth created in Dune. It tears down the idea of a "hero" and shows what can go wrong when people deify leaders. It's a brutally sharp turn away from the original Dune but if you're ready for it, it's a fascinating follow-up.

Yeah, that's the one. Children of Dune, the one after that, gets fucky as hell and super weird, but sets up for another strange genre turn in God Emperor of Dune which is nothing like the others but again is fascinating.
