I really want to read it but the amount of books is so intimidating
Just finished the Wheel of Time series. Great adventure and a fantastic world that Jordan created. One of my favourites. Was originally put off by Sanderson's caricature interpretations of the characters, but he wrapped it up fabulously after a rough first book.

You should try any of Sanderson's work. Stormlight Archives is really good, as is Mistborn.

If you want more, Sanderson is a good call - but go for Stormlight. His other books are good as well, but Stormlight series is him trying to make "his own wheel of time", and I think he succeeds
