The common fan outlook that it's either: a) one week metas with hero pools or b) a meta that lasts the entire year just doesn't hold up historically since 2016. I fundamentally believe that balancing CAN achieve this happy medium.

Hopefully Blizzard will actually acknowledge their errors and remove hero pools. The stability of metas will definitely benefit OWL teams, I feel so bad for them. Either they luck out or fail

They said that they were actively not trying to effect the meta with previous patches. Thats y it lasted so long. If they had done how they patch now the meta would have shifted. And it kinda was naturally by itself before they introduced hero pools

But there was also horrible metas in the past that lasted way too long, like you trynna tell me that moth meta was an amazing experience both viewing and playing?

I don't think moth meta DID last too long. As far as I can remember it was only dominant for Stage 1 of 2018. That's fine! Having a month of one worse meta is perfectly acceptable and much much better than the situation in 2019 or right now.

I think it's gone beyond that. Unless comps and styles are hit with a sledgehammer teams are too risk-averse to really try to shift the meta.

Have you heard of Chengdu??

I’d be happy if OW was GOATS forever, but that’s me. Perfectly balanced. I expect most people would disagree. This “all things to all people” approach of constantly upending the fundamentals of the game is really tiring. No one is satisfied. How does OW not know what it is yet?
