To be fair - what else can you judge it on? How "strong" a team looks in a given match can depend on the strength of their opponent, and win%/match record is hard to use for comparison when OWL teams are only playing 7 games a stage.

Not trying to say it's a *good* metric. But the current format for OWL makes it really hard to judge how strong teams are imo.

Correct, real time is not instantaneous. That’s EXACTLY why playoffs exist. The season is meant to float the best to the playoffs, and THEN we get the real data of who is directly best, at a specific moment.

With a large enough sample size it'd be ignorant to avoid it. Like if two teams are close together in the standings and one does well against good teams and the other doesn't you can assume one is probably better.
