ngl, first half of that episode had MANY moments of awful writing / dialogue the second half killed the game tho, I was dying at Tormund and the rest

like actually that girl with the scarred face and her dialogue with Davos was the worst moment in the entire show so far, and Tarly's explanation to Bran was so hamfisted it hurt

Sadly par for the course for GoT. The execs are genius producers, and they have excellent staff in other areas (casting and actors especially), but they have only ok writers. It works when they can rely on Martin's stuff, but suffers at other times.
