There isn't another long term predictable factor. Some people would say Zarya charge but that's poop imo -- you get it so easily. During the fight itself, positioning and the first engagement is key. Who controls highground? Who used less resources or took less damage early on?
After ult economy, positional advantage is easily the biggest indicator of who is favoured to win a fight. The team without it has to expend more resources and take more damage just to start the engagement. It’s punishing. Especially if you are moving into a high charge Zarya.
The difficulty is compounded when the defender has resources to control the choke point like Graviton and Earthshatter. As an attacker you want to speed in and get on that even footing as soon as possible, but you simply can’t if the enemy holds those ultimates.
