Caught up on KR finals. From EM's pov: Busan—clutch Sparkle DF picks, risky comp Numbani—horrid A defence & Sparkle's Zarya overextending Horizon—big FEED running Doomfist into B attack Dorado—way worse with precision ult combos Lijiang—outplayed by MOATs & grav/bomb combos

They honestly should've matched Sparkle's aggression. You could see that the rest of EM was playing so timid whilst he wanted to make plays. The mindset is what lost them that series, and it wasn't even close after the team started to change pages from each other.

The key thing for me was going back and rewatching EM games in quarters/semis where they stuck with Sparkle's Doomfist despite it not being the best option (and restricting the team a bit because he can't hop on http://D.Va if it doesn't work).

They weren't punished for it and won anyway, so it was difficult to tell whether it was just that Sparkle's Doomfist was that peerless (it kind of is tbh) or they didn't have any other answers in playoffs, until RunAway stymied them and EM couldn't really come up with much else.

Definitely think there’s truth to this, but also think that EM got badly spooked by Horizon. Went into their shells in a big way, left Sparkle hanging out to dry
