    Today at full council we passed a paper for a £500,000 build back a betters borders fund to support clubs and create new initiatives in communities. The SNP opposition did not agree with this and stated we should be funding toilets not the people in our communities!

    Appeals process=unknown Impact young people have faced that affects attainment= not being considered by SQA Young people have been left to figure out this 'exam' season by themselves and with hardly any support from the people that should be protecting their interests

    This is extremely worrying to see, with another year of students being impacted by mismanagement and uncertainty. During this challenging time for students and teachers, the Scottish Government must show leadership and avoid a repeat of last years SQA fiasco.

    We are increasingly concerned about what our members are telling us is happening re: exams on the ground in our schools. Today our Member Forum have been recieving testimony from young people, teachers, parents & policy makers. |

    I was on the radio this morning talking about the serious issues around the SQA 'exams' this year and the stresses being felt by students across Scotland. You'll hear me from just after 1hr 36mins for a few minutes

    The party celebrating being reelected in Scotland with an increased vote share is the same party responsible for pupils up and down the country this week facing exams-in-all-but-name that they were promised they wouldn't have to face. That's maybe more important than ?

    POLITICS: chosen as successor as Conservative group leader on - was elected as a list MSP and will step down as co-leader of the local authority. Mr Houghton still has to be confirmed as the council's co leader.

    Right - as the dust settles I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me, and everyone who hasn’t (you drove me on even harder). Just missed out on the final list seat thanks to the ever helpful All for Unity but thats democracy.

    Nicola Sturgeon has broken her first election promise, and the votes have not finished counting yet. She had promised the focus would be on pandemic recovery, not indyref2. Now she has said she will go ahead with legislation for scexit.
