My parents do NOT need any "re-education" as the Chinese government claims, my parents have not committed any crime in their lives. My dad is a businessman, he went to Chinese school, he has more Chinese friends than Uyghurs. He can speak native level Chinese. #MeTooUyghur

My mom is a retired housewife, she got her bachelor degree from #Xinjiang University of Finance and worked many years for a state-owned company as an accountant. She can speak fluent Chinese, she taught me Chinese when I was little. She is the kindest person I’ve ever know.

I came to the United States as a student to pursue higher education in 2015. In May 2017, my parents got their US visa and wanted to come to my graduation ceremony. But their passport was confiscated by Chinese authorities. And they were taken to concentration camps in Sep 2017.

During the #commencement, everyone around me was super happy, they could hug their #parents, could call or text their parents, for me, not knowing if my parents are alive is killing me inside... My commencement day became one of the worst days of my life... #graduation #student
