There’s probably more reason to it that Youtube does not want to communicate. For instance, they may be trying to stop these live subscribers comparison (pdp vs t-series) which may or may not incite ppl to unsubscribe from the targeted channels (e.g:James Charles and his 4M loss)

If a LARGE group of people are pissed at a YouTuber they’re gonna unsubscribe wether they see the sub count go down or not.

And if a large amount of people unsubscribe they can still see the Sub count go from 4.5M, to 4.4M, to 4.3M, etc.
