My follow up to him: And you think you’ve done that? Your rangers, your investigators you think have been doing that and have done that?
McCraw: “Absolutely, absolutely. And we’ll continue to do so.”

More McCraw: “And why should we not be judicious and as thorough investigation law enforcement officers as we are subjects that aren’t in the occupation.”

Here is more of what McCraw told us today:
“And one thing that’s important – I know people have talked about ‘well what investigation, there can’t be a criminal investigation, the subject is dead’ well… she’s looking at criminal culpability for law enforcement officers.”

The internal investigation by the DPS’ inspector general is continuing. McCraw offered no update. He did say no new officers were added to the initial list of 7. He was careful not to comment on the investigation because the DA has prohibited officials from talking about it.

We’ve learned many of the questions posed to law enforcement officials on scene that day is centered on the early moments of the massacre. what they saw Arredondo doing. What they saw other leaders doing or not doing. And the door of the classroom. Did anyone actually check it.

Thank u Shimon for ur persistence for answers to this tragedy. Nobody wants to say or do anything, they’re all pointing at this,or that. The DA doesn’t want to release any info either. Meanwhile the families continue to suffer knowing lives could have been saved. BS!

How is this possible? This was dealt with years ago in the MSD commission hearings as this was a failure in Parkland. This should result in accountability, as resignation or termination, for any elected leader & member of law enforcement who failed to make sure this happened.

When I was in the DA’s office in Uvalde they DA’s office personally put on trainings to make sure the Law enforcement was prepared. I never was asked to participate in these trainings and I was always concerned that the trainers were very inept.

Though we learned some of this information from the expert hired by the Uvalde County, we made sure to back it up with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). Records they provided CNN shows Nolasco has no active shooter training. It is not required by law. twitter.com/matthewboedy/s…

There’s no indication she’s hired anyone to specifically help her navigate this case. No indication a grand jury is involved. Instead it appears she is relying on the Texas Rangers. Some of the very same Rangers who were on scene and making decisions with how to respond on May 24

So who and what she’s exactly investigating still remains unclear. This is an extremely complex and difficult case. Hundreds of interviews with officers and witnesses. Hours and hours of footage from bodycam to surveillance. Plus the forensics and more.

Interesting that the Uvalde DA sat in a room today with Mariano Pargas while the country commission was in executive session. He was the acting commander during the failed response tasked with making key decisions. DA has said she is investigating all police action that day.

The retirement came after CNN’s report of Pargas knowing children were alive in the school… but still did not act

In uvalde, a family member was just removed from what is likely to be a contentious county commission hearing that is about to begin. Mariano Pargas the former Uvalde police Lt. who resigned is an elected official and member of the commission.

Our reporting continues to show that many of the initial narratives are not holding up. The leadership was not there that day. Many of the officers were confused by who was in charge and what exactly they were supposed to do. Someone needs to take ownership of that and explain.
