Left for DC at 6:10am this morning & have already been asked if the husband is babysitting. No sir, he’s parenting. He’s damn good at it too.

Me: I’m excited to head to DC next week!
Him: Will your husband be okay w the kids?
Me: Yep. He’s their dad.
(No one asks my husband this question when he travels. Ever.

Dads are just as capable as moms to take care of the kids. When this fully recognized equal parenting will be the norm. Great response to the person questioning trust in your husbands skills as a father.

When I moved to Germany for a year (pre kids and pre marriage) people literally asked HOW HE WOULD EAT WITHOUT ME. He is our main cook and always has been. Also, he's a grown adult.

It's when dads use the term babysitting for their own damn kids that it riles me. Doing their job

The whole ‘babysitting ‘ terminology by dads does my head in! As a proud dad I loved that time alone with them when they were young. Now they r 18 and 20, still do(and when we r all together as a fam too of course)

My husband does all the night feedings. Ppl always assume I’m breast feeding and up all night. They are left dumbfounded when I respond with my current situation. Gender stereotypes are exhausting & add nothing of value to any conversation.
