More public transit "bridge funding" so they can continue to run terrible service through 2025. Maybe use that funding to improve service so fares can be your "bridge funding"

Thanks @Scott_Wiener for joining us in fight to avoid 2025 fiscal cliff and save Bay Area transit from deep service cuts sfstandard.com/politics/wiene
NEW 🏘️ STORY: Remember the Monster in the Mission? A nearby 11-story tower with nearly 200 “micro” units – studios with shared kitchens – might have become Monster 2.0. Instead, it got approval last month, and a round of applause to boot /1

What the media will go through to not blame a driver.

The bridge has been a thorn in the side of many Cobb County drivers for years. wsbtv.com/news/local/cob

The all star game was this weekend, but 's top hockey article is about a team from a league informally known as the Somewhat (or Sometimes) Professional Hockey League not showing up to a home game - and they wonder why hockey viewership is down so much
Like back when sofar was donation based. A week before they'd give you the neighborhood and the day before they'd give you the address. Now it's $34 for a show that you have no idea who's playing. Who goes to these?

FUCK YES. The concept that you should be oh so lucky to play an industry circle jerk that generates millions of dollars for the wealthy and get pennies for the privilege is fucking bullshit. SXSW should pay all their artists as generously as they pay themselves.

Not only are these people clueless about e-bikes but they seem to think every delivery is at the top of Twin Peaks.

Why is such a large percentage of food delivery in New York City brought by bike, and yet such a tiny percentage in San Francisco? Why doesn't SF have as vibrant a bike-delivery ecosystem?
The amount of responses to this thread from people that either don't know what an e-bike is or think they can't go up hill is absolutely mind boggling.

And there you have it. Plate covers to avoid being caught running red lights and also avoiding tolls. No surprise they also give El*n $8/month.

Replying to @MikeChenSF
SFMTA is a corrupt organization. Their red light camera program frequently issues erroneous tickets. In my neighborhood they have been caught ticketing cars up to 20 minutes before street cleaning. I now have a plastic cover over my plate to prevent the plate from being read.

Love the irony of this DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAY sign along with the van completely blocking the sidewalk. When will start enforcing this illegal parking?

It seems the solution to crime in SF is to ban cars. Union Square looting? Ban cars. Mission prostitution? Ban cars.

This is why day lighting is so important!
Quote Tweet
What is daylighting? Before AB 413. The sight of a driver approaching a crosswalk at an intersection is shown, depicting how cars stopped or parked at the curb near the crosswalk block their view of pedestrians who are about to cross the street. Below, After AB 413, depicts a red curb with no stopping designations near the crosswalk, which allows for a clear and unobstructed sight line for the driver to see the pedestrians about to cross the street.
Today, we introduced AB 413 to institute daylighting to improve public safety. CA’s pedestrian fatality rate is more than 25% higher than the national average. Daylighting is an important measure that increases visibility of pedestrians & bicyclists at crosswalks & intersections

Seven years ago today, Berkeley witnessed a devastating demonstration of what can happen when bike safety plans are delayed. On this day, Meg Schwarzman, a new mom, was run over by a car, suffered horrendous injuries, and was assumed dead. 🧵

Dangggg. SFFDPIO lying to the public. Previous call was 30 minutes earlier half a mile away.

Thank you for sharing this. The crews did not say they “were on a break”, they were finishing a medical emergency with a patient care document from a call at that location which is why they moved to the other side of the street rather than engage with you. Have a safe day. twitter.com/drivingmzstace…
Atlanta will use this funding to build 1 pedestrian bridge so drivers don't have to wait for people to cross the street.

Atlanta is getting $30 million for safe streets projects. $20 million for street trees, raised medians, other good stuff on 122nd Ave. -- one of Portland's most dangerous streets @USDOT is like "you get safety funding, you get safety funding..." You love to see it.

Hidden cost/environmental harm from electric vehicles. Having to get new tires every 20,000 miles due to how heavy these vehicles are.

Love this streetview from the SF Standard article showing how people park in this part of Potrero Hill. Flex posts clearly aren't enough to make crosswalks for people to cross the street.

88% of major incidents from happen on streets with public transportation. Just like Tesla, it's part of their business plan to slow public transportation.

Horrific. No surprise, of course, that it was a grossly overpowered Dodge Challenger (not an SUV), when Dodge's marketing glorifies dangerous driving. The tech exists to limits speeds in urban settings – implement it.
