The pause on evictions has been extended to 31st May - but this hasn’t stopped every stage of the process. Your landlord can still give you notice, and you may still have to go to a review or court hearing. Only the final stage – the actual eviction by bailiffs - is paused.

A horizontal line showing the three stages of eviction. On the left is the first stage - notice, in the middle is the second stage - court action. On the right is the last stage - eviction by bailiffs. The last stage is coloured red to show it is paused.

Have you had to contact your council about a housing issue? We want to hear from you! We're doing a quick survey on what happens when people contact their council. If you can spare 5 minutes, we'd really appreciate it:

Our Mental Health First Aiders have made a real difference. We introduced the programme before the pandemic and honestly I’ve been as glad we did that as I am that we had invested in new helpline telephony. That’s how important it is.
