Pleased to see the recent graduates are settling in well, especially my adopted boy Kiombo 
. That’s good their carers travelled with them to help them settle into their new surroundings and family.

At what age are they weaned off the milk?

Baby elephants wean between the ages of 5 - 10 yo. 10 seems a long time, and I wonder if the mother gives birth to another baby during that 5 year, that that might determine when an older sibling is fully weaned.

I've been wondering if you chose these three to go to Umani with Murera's future in mind? Since these three babies are more independent minded, Murera may choose to begin her life in the wild now and perhaps that played a part in your decision?

Maybe with Luggard's passing the little herd needed few babies to take care of and teach the ropes and be distracted from the sadness ( which im sure most of them were left with...)...
