At this point, I think America can no longer teach South Korea anything about democracy and rule of law. Of course, we have our own problems and they are not trivial, but what is happening in America in just astonishing beyond belief. All sane American must stand up and speak up.

I agree with you. I live in Thailand for part of the year. You kind of expect it here. But I would never have thought I would see it in the US. So sad.

I am outraged at this intrusion & assault on what ought to be our model democracy. But I am a lot older than you & remember - still with bitterness & rage - the destabilization of our country 1966-74. We've long been more imperfect than most of us believe, & have often worsened.
