I'm glad you took this swift action. The appropriate action is to fire him and for the students to sue him for libel.
I was just made aware that my aide made an insensitive and inappropriate allegation about Parkland students today. I have spoken to him and placed him on leave until we determine an appropriate course of action. I do not share his opinion and he did so without my knowledge.

It's the latest NRA talking point. Even elected officials are now saying the kids have been coached as if that makes them less credible. This is how low the NRA will go to make gun money more imprtant than human life. NRA is a terrorist organization.

Your aide needs to lose his job. Frankly, besides the crazy and disrespectful nature of his comments, he showed you no respect by making them in his capacity as your aide, on state e-mail, rather than as only an individual in non-official capacity.

But considering his conduct prior when working for taxpayers (convicted of tax evasion) the fact that he was hired in the first place is suspect.
