Excellent coverage of our work demanding that CBP not destroy misconduct records. An agency fraught with violent impunity cannot be allowed to purge records.

The last thing CBP, an agency with no oversight & utter lack of transparency, should be permitted is to purge its own records. CBP misconduct becomes public via leaks, journalism or lawsuits – the loss of internal records could bury unknown abuses forever.

This administration ignored CDC recommendations, using the pandemic as an excuse to override our immigration system. At least 8,800 unaccompanied children have been unlawfully deported because of it — that's why we're in court fighting back.

Last week, Border Patrol arrested a 15-year-old girl after undergoing surgery at a Texas hospital. Despite living in the U.S. her entire life, she now faces deportation. No one should fear deportation for seeking healthcare, especially during a pandemic.
