Also don’t forget that this is not the first time Border Patrol makes weak claims of “rock throwing” to justify excessive use of force. In 2019: “The AP saw rocks thrown only after U.S. agents fired the tear gas.”

A sophisticated response from … A federal agent’s ability to “defend themselves” does not include firing pepper bullets across the border at protesters or forcing migrants off US soil without arrest and processing.

📣 It’s clear: DPS has not provided the full transparency our communities deserve about the Uvalde shooting and cannot be trusted to investigate itself. These failures raise fundamental questions about DPS conduct far beyond Uvalde.

The public needs to see the video footage of this killing. Shooting a migrant in custody, in a CBP facility, "at point blank range" no matter the circumstances is deeply disturbing and requires public transparency.

A very irresponsible headline from . Gloria Chavez took over the El Paso Sector to solve a PR crisis after multiple children died and families were held in outdoor cages. Rampant impunity for abuses still marked her tenure.
No person should be harmed while detained by the government. The horrific, fatal shooting of an individual in Border Patrol custody affirms the need for public accountability. We demand a transparent and thorough investigation.

Last week, Governor DeSantis deceived people seeking protection in the US, sending 50 asylum seekers across the country to Martha’s Vineyard as an anti-immigrant political stunt. People are not political pawns — and DeSantis isn’t the only one treating them this way.

Wonder why we're always calling out DHS's failures in oversight and accountability of Border Patrol? If the DHS Inspector General can't competently investigate insurrection what does that mean for the nation's largest law enforcement agency?
