Just out of curiosity, do we know who gave the white man the code? If it was the same employee that denied the black man, that's a problem for sure. But if another employee gave the white man the code, it's possible that employee was going against store conduct by doing so.

After re-watching the video, the lady (manager?) Clearly states that she didn't give Weston the code. There was at least one other barista behind the counter so it's very likely someone else gave Weston the code. Not the employee in the video.
-
Why do you assume she's telling the truth? Weston doesn't back her up.
-
Not saying anything for sure, just saying that there was at least 1 other barista behind the counter and no one said anything. Can't assume she's being honest, but also can't assume she's lying since we don't know
-
Ah. You said that it's "very likely" that what she said is true. So you can see why someone would think you believe her.
-
Yeah I realized my phrasing of that is absolutely terrible haha

Just WRONG in every sense. To anyone making excuses for this woman’s “attitude” because they’ve worked in customer service is just as wrong as she is. The context of whether brandon stating he would order when getting back or not is not the issue. Weston was allowed to use the

restroom before ordering is the issue. It’s sad to see more and more of these stories to come to light but at the same time is a tiny glimpse of what POC have to go through on a day to day basis. Shame on you Starbucks. Will gladly buy 5 dollar frappes elsewhere.

Because who buys food or a drink and then goes to the bathroom??? Who wants to eat something after it's been in a public restroom? People are lying if they claim they wouldn't do the exact same thing.
-
what i they had a friend who could hold their food for them ? Or while he was waiting he could use the restroom ain’t I right ?
-
Many people walk into restaurants and immediately go to the bathroom first, sometimes just to wash their hands. Why is there a prescriptive way to use the store?

I went to one of the Starbucks in my area. I sat down, didn't order anything, began reading a book. 5 minutes. 10. 15 minutes. No one asked me to buy something or to leave if I wasn't going to buy something. Then it came to me -- I'm white.

This is an isolated incident. Stop using to generalize a false reality.
-
It is not an isolated incident, where have you been under a rock!??
-
There are 14,000 Starbucks nationwide. The company has existed since the 70's. These incidents are few and far between and should be dealt with locally instead of feeding a false narrative.
-
These are the only 2 known incidents, because they weren’t taped and gone viral on Twitter doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen, just like police shootings/brutality it’s been happening since but is only becoming known of recent
-
I'm not saying that it doesn't happen. It does. However, there is no evidence that these are widespread issues. Why is this a national story? It's misguided and harms race relations. The focus should be on mending black communities and not 2 men getting kicked out of a coffee shop
-
I disagree. It’s small, unknown incidents that have created wide spread incidents. I agree to disclose everything and work together to NIP IT!
-
Respectfully disagree.
