As I traveled through the South last week on my way to Florida, I was struck by how empty Waffle House parking lots were. I’d say they are feeling the effects.

I live in SE Virginia and I was just thinking the same yesterday. All of them in my city have been like a ghost town. Literally no one in the parking lot or inside. They need to feel the burn of this. I know I’ll never step inside of one again.
-
Same here too even during breakfast and lunch rush
-
Ha, the truth teller is driving by there on a Friday or Saturday night after bars and clubs close. I may have to do that just to see.
-
Please report back. I'm on the West Coast... so the cost of investigating is prohibitive. The
#wafflehouse is waning. Hope folks will consider posting empty parking lot/restaurant photos -
I definitely will. Now it’s just a matter of heading out at that hour. My bar/club days are beyond me but I will have to head out late one night to check it out. I’ll be sure to send pics.

Be safe, take a friend and have a good attorney on speed dial.....remember....it IS the
#wafflehouse -
No doubt. Need to take security over there with me.

Whenever I watch these videos that you share, I think about all of the instances I've been in where I've questioned "authority" or actually acted improperly and how I've walked away just fine. This is the white privilege I think some refuse to acknowledge.
-
This. I've raised questions, argued for what's right, and demanded customer satisfaction. Because I'm white, I only have to ask myself: "is this worth my time?" Black America has to ask: "is this worth my freedom, my safety, my life?"
-
Why should we have to ask when it is our right as a citizen of the United states to challenge what we believe is unfair treatment
-
Exactly. You shouldn't. It should be just as safe for you to challenge unfair treatment as it is for me. I never worry that disputing a charge is going to get me arrested. I'm aware most of Black America doesn't have that privilege. They should.

The problem is not calling the police it is the police arresting people for none issues! Just because they are called does not mean they have to arrest someone What state is this?

Exactly!! The police wouldn't be there if
@WaffleHouse wasn't calling them with the foolery! - 1 more reply

Black people who still patronize Waffle House after
#ChikesiaClemons get no sympathy from me
-
Goes back further than the Clemons case. This article was written in 1999. IDK why black folks are so loyal to a brand that consistently treats us this way.https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1051855 …
