Don't forget the French-American War, McCarthy. Did you pass history in school?

France was also there for New Orleans after Katrina, understanding that we didn’t just lose property, but a significant part of our culture as well. The French sent a host of art that never left their country before & it was only displayed at NOMA. I cried at the time.

Right. They were there to screw the British and, if possible, to prevent the U.S. from becoming a rival in the bargain. Didn't work out for them.

I like France because they stood up against Iraq war. Right now they are on the right side of history.

France was pushing for the sanctions to be lifted & proven to have been illegally trading with Saddam, despite the the war concessions. France wanted the oil. Violations of the Gulf War SC resolutions led to resumption of the war. France wasnt acting from moral standpoint.

Here here! America would not exist as it does today if it were not for Ben Franklin and France’s support for our revolution..

I feel the same way…after walking battlefield
@Yorktown & seeing all French names who lost their lives carved into the memorial there…I always say, "If it wasn't for the French…we would all be speaking English now…" (you have to think about it for a minute)#Hooked_on_PhonicsThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Most people don't realize the money, troops & naval commitment France laid forth for America in the Revolution…they were our best friends

Ummm weren’t they late? For that war and in another if we depended on them we wouldn’t be speaking English? So while I can appreciate France I wouldn’t go out on that limb.

And they've been milking a few bucks and a couple ships for 250 years. Somehow I think the ledger shows an imbalance plus at the time France was delighted to have their enemy distracted by a conflict far away. No offense but can anyone think of any good they've done us since?

Absolutely, and our leadership will remain together. However, we have paid our debt to France many times over. They've become weak due to 'multi-culturalism.'

Getting right to the point...without the French, we wouldn't have been able to defeat Cornwallis at Yorktown
