Not recording interviews isn't a bug. It's a feature. It gives unscrupulous people leeway to frame and strong arm people. If it's your word vs. the feds, you're probably going to jail.

Sharyl apparently hasn't read '3 Felonies a day' by Harvey Silverglate. The reason the FBI **will not** record interviews is **precisely** so they can trip up the interviewee via the form 302. It's done on purpose. If you insist on a recording they won't interview you at all.

the FBI should be forced by law to record interviews...
-
It shouldn't be necessary to pass a law. You would think that trump's appointee, Christopher Wray would be professional enough to just change policy.

Heck, when I call any customer service line in the world they record my calls!! The FBI, however can prosecute me based on their notes? INSANE.

The FBI does not make "mistakes" like this. Clearly, it allows them to manipulate the interpretations/summaries in order to achieve a desired conclusion. See - corruption.

And yet...it is still Standard Operating Procedure not to record interviews. The height of incompetence.

It is in fact hard to believe! There is only one conclusion you can draw.....

Sharyl, you are not yet hardened enough. FBI agents, in pairs, prefer to interview subjects, so they can massage the 302 to create a felony 1001 "lying to the FBI." It's not accidental, it's the entire reason not to tape the interview.https://corporate.findlaw.com/litigation-disputes/how-to-avoid-going-to-jail-under-18-u-s-c-section-1001-for-lying.html …

Do you know who was with Comey when he interviewed Clinton?
-
I don't think Comey was there at all, but McCabe and Strzok where. I think.

If I were on a jury and they didn’t have either a recording or a transcript certified by both side? Not. Guilty.

According to the jury foreman in Florida that is what coast them the trial of the wife of the Pulse nightclub shooter from going to prison. With no FBI notes it left reasonable doubt which is all you have to have for presumption of innocence. .

I meant to say no audio recordings of the interviews, but I knew you knew what I meant. Sorry.

Sharyl, if the interviews were recorded, then neither side could lie. Given the FBI is always given the presumption of telling the truth, who would recordings be a disadvantage for?
