1 Here's the text of Sinclair's promo that Sinclair's competitors and left-wing interests have created a fuss over. (This one for KOMO in Seattle). Let me know what you think about what it says: "Our greatest responsibility is to serve our Northwest communities...." (continued)

Ford & GM run ads attacking each other too.
-
FoxNews differentiated themselves from Sinclair too-if station is showing national content but pretends that it is local because "point of local promos is for the community to know and trust their anchors" its a scam- like thanking a DC reporter who broadcasts 2 multiple stations
-
Fox news is a competitor. Of course they're against Sinclair. And all the local news stations are owned by national companies. "I'm shocked, shocked they have promos. " local newspapers are also owned by national companies. And radio stations too.
-
Allied Progress are competing too. both left and right went after sinclair. you can have promos but you shouldn't lie or portray that they are local. a lot of places the owners don't have editorial control. if the workers are independent contractors they can't.
-
Media companies are businesses. Ford, GM, are FiatChrysler all bad mouth each other too. The media companies, both left and right, are competing for ratings/ ad dollars.

The promo tantrum is just a fig leaf. The real issue is the merger. There are legitimate points of view, for and against the merger. But this obsession with a promo, is very childish.
-
the real issue is that local stations were forced to pretend that boris e was joining their team. I wondered why would guy coming off trump campaign join local station then realized he was syndicated and they were lying. if they that blatant then merger becomes issue
-
Who cares about a promo? It's absolutely irrelevant. There are legitimate reasons to oppose a merger, but a promo is just promo. During commercials and promos, I use the mute button, or switch to other channels.

both sides used it: Fox News host told BuzzFeed News. “I've never been told a single time what to say.” Another network insider said the comparison between Sinclair and Fox News was “ludicrous” and that Sinclair anchors in the video “looked like hostage victims.”
