In my opinion, there's no reason they shouldn't be allowed to. We love the FBI (when it's at its best) but FBI agents aren't infallible, have sometimes lied (Wen Ho Lee's polygraph, etc), and every benefit must be provided the accused. https://sharylattkisson.com/2015/08/19/when-the-fbi-lied-about-wen-ho-lees-polygraph/ …https://twitter.com/OIB_Jim/status/980178906065113089 …

I agree with your critique the FBI 302 is a recollection of interviews according to the agents, problem is the 302's may be written hours or days after the fact. My question is can the interviewee record the interview and transcribe it??

In most LE agencies, audio recording is SOP. BUT the FBI is not "most law enforcement agencies". Famous But Incompetent

We're at a time where if you criticize one person of any organization you condemn the whole organization. Nothing is epidemic anymore. Everything is pandemic. Stating that one FBI agent is flawed is saying that the whole FBI is flawed. The media needs help It's flawed.

Sharyl, I'm frankly tired of hearing that the FBI/DOJ are just fine, except for a few bad apples. These 'bad apples' came up through the ranks and are creatures of the Deep State system. We have NO idea how many more swamp creatures there are!

We in state and local law enforcement are not allowed to conduct business in this way. Videoed interviews are first choice, followed by audio recordings. Last resort is contemporaneous notes. Mere recollections even if written would never stand up to defense challenges.

When the FBI is interviewing politicians or government agencies they should be expected to be lied to and record everything. They would do it for normal people.

Sheryl my family member was falsely “suspected” put through a lie detector (and passed), subsequently layed off “due to business reasons” and suffered a severe heart surgery as a result. I’d love to know help him be restored, he is a fine man. This was purely politically!

Sharyl, I was told years ago by a Policeman, Peter, if you get into trouble car accident, or with the Police, write it down as soon as you can while the action is (whatever it be) is clear in your mind so you can respond to your notes.

They would have to know they were being interviewed, and have some notice to prepare. I am not sure that is the FBI's relationship with citizens.
