I don't think anybody hijacked anything. It's a free country and she wasn't rude. Nobody owns time on Twitter, or even a hashtag, that's how it works. If you don't like it (as you said) you can mute her, me, etc. but many voices are heard on social media.

I guess she doesn't want her son to be forgotten. It's her way of keeping his memory and her cause alive. Personally I think there's room. Nobody is stealing from the hashtag. It was a powerful hashtag and not diminished.

Yes. (But not to be contrary--but she never had her moment unimpeded. She has been attacked and her efforts intervened by others constantly since the day her son died -- by many super cruel efforts directed her way :(

I do understand why it might make you upset or emotional to have the hashtag you care about discussed by another issue.
