No, @realDonaldTrump did *not* coin the term "Fake News." Guess who did? Find out here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQcCIzjz9_s …pic.twitter.com/OSHq0VI8Vy

I doubt anyone could truly find the origins of that phrase. I have heard it used for years. But only mainstream lately of course. Why does @realDonaldTrump constantly berate the press and claim fake news? I'm innocently asking as I haven't asked you before.

I found the origins of the phrase in its modern usage (did you watch the TEDx talk? It wasn't that hard to trace in the end. It was introduced as a propaganda campaign in Sept. 2016 ahead of the effort rolled out to control/filter social media/internet.

I'm sorry I have heard the phrase for years. Fake News and Propaganda are hand in hand synonymous terms. He certainly wasn't the first one to have propaganda thrown at them. Why does he use it constantly and same for Collusion/russia...if not guilty why protest too much?

Also as for why Trump uses it, I can't speak for him (despite what you think LOL), but he was definitely successful in turning around that phrase from a defensive posture to a weapon.

Hey now don't you get paranoid on me. I don't think you speak for Trump. I had a momentary lapse of reason. And I don't find it a useful weapon...it's more a sad cry of the winged bird, hit but not killed crying out for help. To me, I think to Shakespeare's "...doth protest..."

Whatever the case with Trump, I think it can be argued it worked effectively for him. Maybe not.

I don't like to give him anything. He's destroyed so much of what is great about this country already and is moving to make it worse. He's given voice to hate and bigotry like no one ever before him and the trickle down is in ever neighborhood. If you see it as an effective ok
