I do not think you are in his income category Sharyl despite your superior marketing skills, so no he is not trying to force “everybody” to pay more taxes. You know better than that. Just a little red
for you fans?

You're right LOL about my income category. (So you *don't* think he should go ahead and write a check to USG if he believes he should be paying more? Doesn't make sense to me.)
#MaybeImBeingTooLogical#WriteTheCheckToday -
It’s not about him personally Sharyl it’s about Americans that are exorbitantly wealthy and whom he believes should contribute more to this great country that afforded him the opportunity to do so well. (I know you know this despite your delightfully feigned confusion)
-
I just think if he has any money he hasn't given to govt or charity and really thinks govt should get more from the wealthy, he should give it all to them. Otherwise; he's not putting his $ where his mouth is.
-
Silly argument Sharyl. You’re better than that.

Bingo, the key word is force.

Like you say they can do it voluntarily, but they never do, they want to for e others while they will find loopholes for themselves. Heck he could have come and said i will give 20% more but nope. Personally i think his charity work is more effective than any government program
-
I don’t know why a capitalist leader is looking to the government to take and process his and other”s wealth. He can freely decide the best use of his money and others can do the same. It’s a large part of our freedom, as Americans. His foundation seems to do great things.

Exactly right. Government Revenues are at all time highs. We have a gigantic Federal be all things to all people, grievance enabling, bloated world police military, drug Nazi, compromised law enforcement, neutered immigration policy spending problem.
-
If he really thought the government is better at "doing good" with extra revenue, he'd be donating his wealth to the USG upon death, not charitable institutions.

Bill Whittle has a great video called "Eat The Rich" that clearly explains the nonsense of confiscating all the evil rich persons, corporations money & assets; and the fact that it doesn't even fund the government for one year

Nobody is forced to claim deductions, he could fill out short form every year

Exactly. Again, he was contesting prior tax years. Btw, it was the rating agencies that help cause the financial meltdown. Buffet said his best investment idea was Moody’s.

Let him toss in $1 billion. The government will find a way to blow that in a day!

Just for once...just once..have just one blowhard billionaire write a check for $300-$400 million in extra taxes and I’ll be a believer. All of this moral preening and posturing to show everybody how superior they are is just boring.

IMO - higher taxes help established corporations and hinder upcoming entrepreneurs and stifle competition. It's to the advantage of established billionaires to demand higher taxes for others. If they had to pay taxes on their assets, they'd sing a different song.

Warren Buffett said the same thing about 5 years ago. Said his secretary paid more taxes than him. He didn't cough up any extra pennies. These 'philanthropists' make me want to puke.

Didn’t he start an organization of super rich people to distribute their wealth to charities after they die? Where’s his organization of the super rich to pay more taxes on April 15th?
