How is this different from gumbo? Looks pretty much same as I make.

Gumbo is a kind of meld between French & Carribean/African cooking. In seafood gumbo, it's traditionally made with okra - "gumbo" is African word for okra. It's a thick "soup" but Earthy & robust. Chicken & Andouille is very popular & file (ground sassafras) is a key ingredient.

My recipe is from a lady in northeastern Louisiana. She says there’s summer gumbo, tomatoes okra in, winter gumbo mostly meat. Sausage, etc
