When we siblings got in a fight, everybody got beat by Dad. No questions asked. #ProudHillbilly

It was the hillbilly way to teach cooperation and humility.
. My dad grew up in Kentucky. When he messed up, he had to go get his own switch off the tree for Grandma to spank him.
Grandma chewed tobacco. When her kids argued over who got to lick the cake bowl, she'd spit in it! -
My dad was born in Kermit, West Virginia! My grandfather was a coal miner. My dad got the switch from the tree to give to my grandpa to use on him, too! I think that definitely was how it was for many of us

Yes! I hated it growing up! But, as a parent, I realized that I knew there be consequences and towed the line, and that was how I learned.

Me too, but it made me whom I am today, & I'm proud! Today it's just crazy. Just look at how a lot of these kids are behaving. No respect whatsoever. For anyone, or anything. Sad.
