They was barred and it happened anyway. The honour system failed. Now we need our full 4th amendment rights returned and Intel agencies and FBI need to have true oversize. Not by blind supports like McCain or haters but by more civil liberties individuals.
-
Seems like when a court ex parte is conducted a judge would throw any lawyer out of the room permanently that only presented one side of these FISA cases. The FISC has proven itself the weakest link in the whole "we don't spy on Americans" surveillance charade.

I think it is even more important that they were required to present all the facts that they had, even ones beneficial to the argument against granting the FISA warrant. Lies by omission etc...
-
And the exculpatory evidence, such as who paid for the dossier, had been verified by the same individuals that signed up for a Leavenworth vacation when they applied for the
#FISA warrant. -
I am disappointed by the lack of attention called to the FBI's failure to provide the exculpatory evidence in their possession to the FISC. That is clear evidence of malfeasance. I thought this failure was the main derogatory item in the memo.

willfully and knowingly leaving out VERY PERTINENT information I think is a big deal to a judge ( a real judge not appointed by BHO).
-
These judges are appointed without confirmation or anything by the Chief Justice, with no accountability. Roberts' last 4 appointments were Clinton and Obama appointees previously. Not a good arrangement.

An even more important question is why the FISA Court was used to seek a warrant on Carter Page? The FISA Court is supposed to be used to investigate terrorism. How is that related to Carter Page or the Trump campaign?
-
Page was recruited by russia in 2013, and the fbi warned him then. So of course they kept tabs on him...as you would hope. But trump put him on his team anyway, so...there ya have it, and and many other things.
-
What does "recruited by Russia" actually mean? And where is this all documented? And how does it justify spying on him as a private US citizen? Meanwhile, slogging through: https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/carter_page_hpsci_hearing_transcript_nov_2_2017.pdf …
-
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/04/us/politics/carter-page-trump-russia.html … Not exactly hard to find. He bragged in a letter about his relationship with the Kremlin. And yes, it does justify keeping a watch on him, unless you think Russia is our pal.
-
Advising Russia on stuff is something probably thousands of Americans do daily. It's not anything like being a spy for Russia. And the Obama admin loved Russia, with the reset button and all. Not seeing how any of it justifies a FISA warrant as if Page was an enemy of the USA...
-
Seeing as how neither of us are in the IC, I'll stick with their judgment.

Comey allegedly and/or reportedly signed three FISA apps — while Comey under oath calls Steele Dossier: “unverified and salacious” ~ theHillpic.twitter.com/1usuKbUH4s
-
and the dossier is STILL unverified and salacious. I supposed because it accomplishes it’s purpose that way.
-
Comey said it and Comey does NOT appear to be a Trump fan.
-
When does the director of the FBI approve FISA warrant 3 time based on salacious, unverified, information as well as circular reporting? When he is “played” into “saving us” by doing so.
-
Was it politically motivated corruption or astronomical incompetence? The FBI is full of the sharpest people we have in America.
