when you put these devices in your home you are bugging yourself... ask yourself who that benefits.

They can already bug you thru phones and computers quite easily but I supposed this would make it even easier...

It's very likely that it will be used by some data collecting ad agency claiming they are just analyzing your behavioral habits "in order to provide you better service." Yeah...right.

Not necessarily true; it’s a voice-activated (and deactivated) circuit.

But it has to listen for your voice. All the time. Right?

“Listen” but in the sense of a spike in an easily recognizable sound pattern that then indicates, “turn on, respond, and process what follows”.

Certainly that was the original design. As you surely know, many of us now tape over the cameras on our computers b/c of spying.

It is not uncommon to see an ad on our phones after my wife and I have had a conversation about a particular topic. Scary. Big brother is indeed listening.
