For so many of our brave vets, the VA system today remains a hopeless morass that costs them & taxpayers untold millions in time and anguish daily. Perhaps the bureaucracy is simply too big to fix. @DeptVetAffairs @VeteransHealth @VetAffairsOIG

Not sure I'd call it "...a hopeless morass..." Sharyl. As a veteran I'm treated at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville NC w/care and professionalism.

I didn't say it was that for everyone, I sure hope it's not! But for many thousands it is, sadly. Terrible, terrible. Many first hand accounts.

Amen sister! I'm enrolled in the VA My HealtheVet program. I can tell you that my experiences back up your analysis. A routine surgical procedure to repair a torn meniscus in 2010 has turned into a nightmare for me.

Too FUBAR to be fixed! #VA needs to be nuked and started over, starting with closing down all VA hospitals & just giving Veterans a lifetime card allowing them to receive care ANYWHERE THEY DAMN WELL PLEASE!! =^.^=

You have no idea! I'm a vet, try to.get care there. One doctor told me they "ration" care depending on what "someone" thinks your life expectancy may be. Roll the dice (and they're loaded!)

The Veterans Affairs, OIG are comprised of spineless cowards that do not represent all of those who served. When you create polls to show what veterans needs are, without including 100% representation, that is dishonest Speak for your own corruption!

I agree, the veterans need to be served by the private sector and close the door 🚪 on the VA.

This is what socialist medicine looks like! Leave a few specialist hospitals open & just pay for Vets to use private health care.https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/03/world/europe/uk-national-health-service.html …

The people who push single payer always ignore the harsh reality of the VA system. With the Left-This all about controlling lives, not actually helping. VA officials must be held accountable because nothing will change until there are consequences

And interesting that a partial solution is allowing vets to seek care through private doctors instead of broken federal VA system, yet federal govt’s so-called solution for health care is to make it a federal program.

You are right. The only solution is to shut the VA down and give all vets a medical card accepted at every hospital in the country.

Sell it all off and give vouchers. Many hospitals are hurting and could use the business.
