Accg to the most comprehensive study on flu shots in elderly, done by federal govt., death rate among elderly has starkly risen since more have received more flu shots. How could the flu vaccine make the flu worse? It’s not a live vaccine. My entire family got the flu when my children were young...it hit us one after the other..it was awful! Have gotten the vaccine every year since then...about 20 years. We haven’t had the flu since then!

Read the study; they are the scientists, and as I reported, they said they went in to the thing biased in favor of flu vaccine working--and were stunned by what they found.

Where’s the study? I’m just speaking from personal experience. Me, my husband and my two grown sons get vaccinated every year and haven’t gotten the flu since it almost wiped us when it hit us all those years ago! I still remember it! It was awful!!

All the info is linked here. https://sharylattkisson.com/2015/07/28/govt-researchers-flu-shots-not-effective-in-elderly-after-all/ … The govt. researchers were as surprised as anyone! And then the govt. moved to quiet their findings.

I read the study. With all due respect, and, by the way, it’s a pleasure to talk to you....I’d like to see several independent studies before I came to a conclusion. Government studies...smh....

Usually agree on govt studies but this one was different for the reasons stated and the govt establishment tried to quiet it. The researchers are very credible and I did quite a bit of digging into it. But it's good to make up your own mind. No worries. Nice to meet you.

All elderly people die More have received flu shots Therefore a higher percentage of the dead got flu shots Simple math Not causation

Yep, lots of people die in the hospital I did read the study. The bottom line is flu shots are still recommended for the elderly

Right. So the bottom line is--why? (I know the answer from my CDC sources.) But I'll bet you'd rather not know. But indeed you should absolutely decide for yourself! Not trying to tell you what is right for you!

I was told that even though CDC knows flu shots don't work in elderly they can't "take them away" because they've been pushing them for so many yrs & the elderly wd be suspicious. So instead they would have to start promoting flu shots for kids/babies to 1/2

Ms Attkisson, are there any stats on flu among elderly vs the increase in population of same? Article/study did not clarify

The study authors said they adjusted for all confounding factors including the increasing elderly population. They actually admitted trying to tease the data to show a benefit (or at least not harm) but admit in the end no matter how they sliced things, it was still negative.

Awesome work! What also astounds me is that if you look at the inserts for the flu shots, they flat out state they have not been tested for safety on pregnant women or the fetuses. Clinicians are not telling pregnant women this...they just say, "Oh, yeah, it's perfectly safe".
