This is what the whole supposed anti-fake news movement (and now "media literacy" movement) are part of: shaping opinions by censoring or emphasizing certain stories. Who's doing the shaping?https://twitter.com/JamesVGrimaldi/status/951624220873777152 …

You have @medialiteracyed wrong. It’s all about asking questions and understanding things like who shapes the message.

Oh no, I have it right. But there are dishonest actors using it to shape the message.

I’d be curious to hear more. Those dishonest actors are not doing media literacy then. Censorship is the opposite of media literacy which at its core is about critical thinking about ALL media messages - even the ones we agree with.

I’ve always thought FB was designed to be a data collection tool from the start. When Zuckerturd won out over the co-creators I just figured he was the one willing to conspire with govt entities so judge ruled in Mark’s favor. His partners were PISSED, Mark screwed them!

That's a broad statement, Sharyl. Some of us in the media literacy movement are trying to help students figure out where info comes from, who creates it, why, & whether it is factually accurate.

FB is DEAD, anyways! A friend has an acct. there, and she told me all she saw were recipes being shared, AND, that most ppl don't even comment anymore! They've outlived their usefullness, and are dying off naturally all on their own! Good riddance, I say!!
