However, people who have provided me trusted info in past (including fmr. Obama admin. officials) have waved me off of the notion that there was Trump collusion and there hasn't yet been evidence of any that I have seen yet so much misreporting. So that's where I'm at. https://twitter.com/AlbaneseJoe/status/947491898800840705 …

You mean Don Jr’s email exchange where he was told that the Russian gov’t wanted to help his fathers campaign and that they wanted to meet because they had dirt in Hillary isn’t evidence of collusion? Really? It may not be CONCLUSIVE evidence but it is evidence is it not!

My trusted sources don't think that's 1. illegal 2. evidence of collusion (Collusion to do what? What do u think is illegal even if they *had* exchanged dirt?) We may not like it but there's a whole universe of oppo research. Dems spent more in '16 on it than Reps; both spent lots

The email exchange is obviously not illegal in and of itself but if a foreign nation assisted with an in kind contribution to the Trump campaign by offering illegally obtained information on opponent that would be illegal.http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/suspected-russian-spy-joseph-mifsud-visited-dc-in-2014-promising-to-dole-out-money-to-students/article/2639448 …

Hmmm well if you see it that way it could be illegal on Russia's part but not President Trump from what I see. Secondly, there's a big assumption about the offer was for illegally obtained info. You may blow steam from your ears at this but those ex-Obama officials I trust don't

Sharyl in all seriousness do you not think the fact that Flynn has struck a deal with Mueller suggests that he has something to offer? There are only a few bigger fish than Flynn - Don Jr, Kushner & of course Trump.

I have no inside info but if I had to bet I would guess Flynn is not offering anything that's actionable on Trump; I think he had no $ or appetite to see thru a court fight with DOJ. What do you think.

I think Mueller won’t have given him such an incredibly generous deal unless he has something substantial to give them in return. I guess we will have to wait and see. It shouldn’t be too long though as I think the first 6 months in 2018 will give us a lot of answers

Yes agreed. Also as to Flynn deal... either what you say is the case *or* they had nowhere else to go w/Flynn & got him on the lying because there was nothing else.

Nothing else? He failed to disclose his Russian and Turkish contacts. He failed to request permission to go to Russia and get paid by them. He failed to register as a foreign agent for Turkey. They had him (and his lowlife son) dead to rights on a number of federal crimes

...a tough case. Will be interesting to see if the Podesta folks get a pass for what sounds like the same sort of late registration under FARA. I think both Fynn & Podesta said they thought they followed law but were registering belatedly out of abundance of caution.
