She's right; "fake news" wasn't a phrase @realDonaldTrump thought up or started; it was a rollout by liberal interests but Trump & conservative interests took it over. I discuss the origin in my book. Much misreporting on this point. @HowardKurtz @MediaBuzzFNC

Trump entirely redefined it, though, no? “Fake news” originally denoted a made-up story intended to deceive. In Trump’s usage it’s a true story intended to distract from his accomplishments, or something.

Yes this is what I write about. Also Trump's usage: reporting false info such as that he removed MLK bust from oval office, that he was lying when he said Comey told him 3 times he wasn't under investigation, etc.

Sure, but Trump's use of "fake" to describe those good-faith mistakes is wholly distinct from the original (bad faith) meaning of "fake news." I still think it's fair to credit him with a coinage.

Those are not good faith mistakes. They’re bias driven attempts to delegitimize his presidency. They happen far too often, and are all one sided to be anything else. This honest mistake scenario is just the latest attempt of Leftist media to never be held accountable.

Obama did remove a bust of Winston Churchill from the oval when he took office and returned it to England. It had been a gift.
