This has been going on forever. You used to get a copy of all charges to insurance company. In the 70s, 2 aspirin in the hospital cost $10.

Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement favoritism toward hospitals is driving physicians out of private practice. “Electronic records” requirement is slowing care and depleting individual freedom.

And the vendors usually get protective orders for contracts. Good luck seeing an actual Medicaid contract.

Every cent spent on insurance is stolen from actual healthcare. A debit system advised that.

Another not so public trick of the medical community is how the inflate posted prices and then claim losses when filing taxes for big deductions.

What isn't negotiated in secret? That's the real tragedy of a press union with government.

what about the cabinet secretaries and their schedules... (question is)?) /do/should/? they serve the general welfare of the voting public or just a chosen constituency; at their discretion?

If Medicaid costs are so inflated, why do so many doctors not take Medicaid patients complaining of slow pay and reimbursements of nickels on the dollar?
-
Thats why costs are inflated. Medicaid pays on average 17 cents on the dollar. Patients usually are habitual, in turn, taking patient time from those who can pay then or insurance. Dampens cashflow
-
If the point is that healthcare is inflated for people who pay for their own healthcare or have private insurance because they have to pay for those with "no skin in the game" I would agree with that because government is involved.
