It depends on where you live I believe, $100k in NC isn’t the same as $100k in SanFran. I believe I am middle class where I live.

Being “middle class” has absolutely nothing to do with your income level.
-
It actually has everything to do with it in relation to this context.
-
Nope. We use that construct incorrectly in the USA. Your “class” doesn’t change no matter where you live or what your income is because “class” isn’t about income. Middle income isn’t the same as middle class.

I agree with what Mark Levin always says on this subject. Americans shouldn't be placed into categories and classes. Liberals categorize Americans in that fashion. I consider myself American class.

$50K-$120K a year. I am middle-class. And this tax plan WILL help me!

1. Anyone making between $50K - $200K/yr, may/may not own small business, pays taxes, owns home w/Mortgage 2. Yes.
-
Good, but it does vary by geography. I don't think 50K really counts as middle class in NYC!
-
You're probably right. Good point.

“Rich” is anyone making more than you, “poor” is anyone making less...class is relative.

wow why do so many bristle at the question. it isn't about putting yourself in a caste system. it is about a monetary station in life not a class station. I am middle class. make enough to get what I need but not enough for whatever I want as others state

I think earning between $40k and $200k (geography plays a part) is middle class. I am middle class.

If you live in a comfortable place and have plenty to eat, you are middle class American and rich to most of the world

I have always disliked this term fwiw. I think the "middle class" are those well enough off to have savings/not be living "paycheck to paycheck"
-
The discipline to save and the extra income to allow it often do not belong to the same people
-
Very good point
