I do the same. Although I use CC for everything I possibly can. I get 1.5% cash back. Which more money earned on spending and paying bills than my saving interest is.

citi double cash back, gets you 2% back, no fees, but like everyone here has said, you have to be disciplined

You were smart when you were young. Took me a good number of years to get there.

Do you think it had a lot to do with our parent's experiences being passed down? We're same age - Recalling credit cards were considered tacky by my mom, only for people who lacked discipline to save for purchases.

Nice conversation. However, this excludes so many families dealing with special needs children and other family members. Ongoing daily treatments and therapies are not covered by health insurance, thus it is very common for families to max cc just to get by.

Today I NEVER spend a dollar bill. If something costs 89 cents I pay for it with a 5 dollar bill. When I get home I put all the one dollar bills in a box. At the end of the year I typically have saved over $1000 just in 1 dollar bills.

If you're "robbing Peter to pay Paul"...you're willingly compounding your own credit fees and interest and harming your own credit. America would be stunned to learn how many now deal only in cash. Credit card Co's so vastly wealthy & have so many on a leash they don't even care

If the card you use is 0% then okay. It buys you time without piling up interest but you really need to be dedicated to paying it off or it becomes a cycle.

Best advice I gave my kids is never carry a balance on a credit card, if your smart you can use them to your advantage, but you have to be discipline to a T. For the past 35 years, I've never once paid interest on a CC
