The nanny state seems to remain programmed through the wishful thinking/pie-in-the-sky rebellion of the sixties that was going to fix the universe, via mainly a Neo-Marxism that has always failed. Today's Left really is a religion of lies, intimidation and lack of responsibility.

It seems to me "insurance" is needed IN CASE some serious mishap occurs. Growing up my family "paid the doctor" for services and most of them were fairly routine. I'm wondering what happened to us that every American supposedly requires $10-12-15,000+ a year in medical care?
-
Agreed but the doctor's office was in his basement, and his wife managed "the office", and a visit could not have been more than $5. And he wasn't in it to "get rich".
-
Nope, but costs were manageable (people still cringed at size of the bills) and many doctors worked with patients who had problems. Why have costs skyrocketed to astronomical heights now? Thank government. You have inadvertently confirmed the problem is not insurance but ACCESS.
-
What do you mean, nope? Just tellin' you. You must be one of those young whippersnappers.
-
And in the early days, say 1830 or so every smallish wilderness town had a couple doctors and pharmacists, granted their schooling was probably only a year or two of medicine.
-
So looking back, part of the cost we now pay is driven by lawsuits, risen expectations, increased requirements and standards, educational costs, and the complications of billing and sundry profit-taking.
-
Talking points. Nice try.
-
As in, what was your point?

Many hard workers can faithfully pay all their bills, except for medical and its insurance. Many Men paying court-ordered child care is a prime example of the hard-working poor in this country.

Lets face it. We have a nation of freeloaders who think they are owed something.

Right, and Oklahoma is stupid because they'd only have to pay 10% of the cost. The Feds would pay 90%. The people of OK are paying for this with their Federal taxes and not getting the benefit. But hey, they're screwing able bodied poor people so it's all good.
