Yeh, about that. I got an earful too from a whistleblower and the co-inventor of that vaccine. I, too, was surprised again at what I learned. Things aren't always as advertised. https://twitter.com/RubyReeses/status/943678092752703488 …

Lives at stake as well as cervical cancer was a major killer of women prior to Pap smears. All women will benefit when HPV screening replaces Pap smears as is even more accurate. Mis marketing was call it an std preventer not a cancer vaccine.

I think they fixed some of the mismarketing, they originally claimed 100% effective (is anything, really?) and quit saying that if I remember correctly.
-
So if it is “only” 95% effective does that make it a bad vaccine. Excellent antibody responses have been reported following immunization with the 9-valent, quadrivalent, and bivalent vaccines, with seroconversion rates of 93 to 100 percent.

Sounds like you’re quoting an advertising blurb
@toppediatrician. You should have a chat with Dr Hirschfield. I’d say he really is an informed physician as far as the HPV vaccine is concerned and he doesn’t like what he sees. -
Dr Hirschfeld is part of the FDA that approves vaccines and obviously the HPV vaccine was approved as safe and effective. Cannot find much info about that doctor's concerns and would be interested to see them if you could provide links to that.

This comment is true- but you seem to focus on one side of the argument and imply other opinions/ data are wrong if greed-induced! You're better than this

Look at the HPV insert and you can see what you have been told is inaccurate. Most cases of HPV resolve on their own and this protects against a few strains and increases the risk of others. This vaccine makes sense in the absence of GYN care -under the better than nothing argument
-
The real issue is that 10-15 years of persistent infection by high risk strains of HPV causes most cases of cervical cancer. That is why if HPV negative can have Pap smear every 5 years. If positive yearly till negative. Vacation changes everything.
