Yeh but then it turned out one of the lead researchers (Thorsen) was a fraud and a most-wanted fugitive... https://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-f-kennedy-jr/central-figure-in-cdc-vac_b_494303.html … 1/2 https://twitter.com/tedfriedmania/status/943697116752265216 …

Again this is not my area of expertise. I would speak with Ben about this. OK? I know you mean well but vaccines do not cause autism and you do have some reputation as a journalist I would imagine? I am not that familiar with your work.

Most of that isn’t true. The fraud was financial. None of his research, not 1 article, has been disputed. Nor has he been convicted. We r trying to extradite.https://www.forbes.com/sites/emilywillingham/2015/08/10/hey-interpol-i-found-your-autism-researcher-fugitive/ …

Financial fraud shows a lack of integrity for the sake of financial gain. That IS the point. The entirety of his work is compromised by that fact.
-
Yeah, except that the articles had multiple authors, underwent peer review, and have held up under replication Thousands of folks publish articles When an author robs, kills, does drugs etc, we don’t assume all their articles were fake
-
By contrast, the first article to link autism and vaccines was shown to have faked data (First, and so far only article to have made it thru peer review in major journal) The author was an otherwise law abiding chap So you never know... :)
-
Could you clarify which article and author you are referring to?
-
You really don’t know? Study showed absolutely fraudulent. Author lost his MD for it because so terrible. Started all this nonsense which has killed people.http://www.cnn.com/2011/HEALTH/01/05/autism.vaccines/index.html …
-
I prefer not to make assumptions, which is why I asked for clarification. The nonsense is that the study wasn’t retracted for fraudulent data, but rather “lack of approval” to do the study.
-
Nope. It was retracted because he altered data.
