I didn't say I was repeating it because Obama coined it. Re-read what I actually wrote please.

@cbassols I don't take the point. First, it's not "affordable", but honestly it's been called Obamacare by everyone & the name was embraced by the former Pres. This isn't about "educating public", it's petty. -
If that's how you see it. But me I don't like inaccurate reporting by anyone. I appreciate that
@SherylAtkinson is covering an important story. An educated public is vital to democracy and accurate journalism has a very important role in that. -
Calling it Obamacare isn't inaccurate.

Exactly

@cbassols misses the whole point, Obama and the Ins. Companies gave birth to a stillborn abomination that nobody can afford, & Because both parties are afraid of the Insurance and Tort industries and the money they control. Mega surprised if they let CVS/Aetna Merge & destroy que -
I agree. I have often said that Healthcare and insurance do not need to be inextricably linked. It is possible to have health care without an insurance company governing it.
-
You're going to like my story coming up early next year... that addresses just that.
-
I'm looking forward to.

#Healthcare advocates don’t realize#HealthInsurance can do more harm than good. Health Insurance is NOT Health Care. Insurance-free doctor websites help the most people for the least cost.http://ow.ly/XqQu30h7pYR

Perhaps you could try to say the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, to help educate people so that most would begin to call it by its correct name.
-
Perhaps. But it doesn't matter to me that "people call it by its correct name." Again, once President Obama began calling it "Obamacare," I think that became the widely understood use. But next time I will try to mention Affordable Care Act, too. I'm sure you're not alone.
-
Yes President Obama did except the coined term, and Republicans used it against him. That is why it is important to use correct terminology. Reporting as tough as yours is a great thing, educating the public is its purpose. Accuracy is vital to do both.
-
Obamacare is the correct terminology. Some are now referring to it as the ACA as a means to obfuscate the origins of the legislation and to deceive people. Plain and simple.
-
The president cannot pass legislation he can only submit policy for consideration. It is Congress who passed the ACA legislation, he signed it into law.
-
Celia, I think everyone here passed 6th grade civics. This is Obama’s signature achievement albeit it a complete disaster. The legislation was written and championed out of the White House. Hence the duly noted moniker – Obamacare.
-
Craig, are you sure about that?
-
Sure about what, Celia?
