The only elderly people in my personal circle who consistently get flu symptoms every year are the ones who get the flu shot.

I am not "elderly" yet, but getting dangerously close. I do not believe I've ever had the flu in my entire life. I've never had a flu shot, other than any that may have been given to me in my childhood (without my consent) many years ago (?). I will never have a flu shot.

This study is over 10 years old. Do you have any more recent studies? Also, is there any disadvantage to getting the vaccinations?

This is very interesting and important information! Thank you. Been trying to tell this to my parents for years. Like so many elderly, they get flu shots regularly because doctors tell them they should. And it's not just the elderly being told they need them.
