No. As long as we have a free press the press is free to lie and smear. Breaking up the media companies would go a long way to restoring competition and bring back truth.

Some media personalities have only a slight familiarity with any historical events. They aren't drawing from a depth of knowledge, so personal biases seem to dominate their thinking.

Yes. Same goes for the "experts" on the media their expertise is only as good as their biased narratives allow.

I think so. People are unplugging from cable & sat so outlets like MSNBC & CNN will suffer. When people go ala carte TV these channels won't survive. We pay a subscription fee for OAN. I wonder how many would pay for CNN?
