Favorite DW: "This is the south and we’re proud of our crazy people. We don’t hide them up in the attic, we bring them right down into the living room and show them off. No one in the south asks if you have crazy people in your family, they just ask which side they’re on."

A northern girl says "you can". A southern girl says " you all can".
-
In my experience: A northern girl says "you can" A southern girl says "you'd better"

Must have been Suzanne Sugarbaker.
-
Actually, it was Charlene, from Missouri.
-
Is Missouri considered the South, though? Seems more like midwestern .
-
Either way, the Charlene character was from the Missouri hometown of the writer/producer (& Mizzou grad) Linda Bloodworth Thomason. Furthermore, the line could’ve been delivered by a Midwesterner.
-
Would have been better delivered by Suzanne though. Because she was indeed a bi$%h.
-
I liked Suzanne too.

You must have scared them off. I can't view the tweet and the page no longer exists.

Sadly, most people under 30 have no idea what a preposition is. But I love the line!

A couple yrs ago a blue checkmark writer (Ozzie) chastised me for ending a tweet w a preposition so I told that joke. Got Twitter jailed.

Or...Man visiting Harvard: Can you tell me where the library’s at? Student: this is Hahvahd. We don’t end our sentences with prepositions. Man: OK. Can you tell me where the library’s at...a$$hole?

My mother was from Morgan City, LA. She had the greatest sense of humor and would have gotten a kick out of that
