Turn off computer, news, social media. Get outside the biggest cities. Most ppl r actually just fine. All races, types living/working together with surprisingly little strife. There are people who want us to live in the artificial reality they create/control. Don't fall for it. https://twitter.com/johnaconner/status/1033867240670679041 …

Let's be clear: what I am uncomfortable with is judging people by race. I frown on that. If it's ok with you, that's your right. Just not my preference.

therein lies the problem. conversations about race, poverty, crime, patriarchy, corruption, the oppression of women, and the general suffering of humanity are SUPPOSED to be uncomfortable. It is this discomfort that motivates homo sapiens to work together for improvement.
-
if you and i can't have a civil discussion about our differences of observations about our society how can either of us become better informed about our society and bring light to the ignorance that makes suffering so prevalent?
-
how do you combat racism and poverty, and inequality if you can't talk about it. if you as a journalist are uncomfortable in a twitter discussion about the ills of our society, that leaves no room to discuss the problem or its solution.
