Well indeed it's been true for decades but let's not forget most everything is ultimately Trump's fault ;)

That’s why a said a large portion, and didn’t say he was to blame. Asbestos can be used to a greater extent now to build structures than has been permitted for many years. Foreign asbestos companies are so happy, they’re literally stamping Trump’s face on packaging!

No in all seriousness I don't rely on Snopes because it's so conflicted. But I believe you!

It is naturally occurring. It is actually in dirt. How do we ban dirt?

(Not so much in dirt as rock.) (No one is suggesting banning the natural form, the bans typically affect how it can be used in new products.)

Dirt is crushed rock. It is a mentally occurring substance and may even be in your granite countertop.

Asbestos has many good uses as long as you don’t inhale it. A sharp pencil is useful if you don’t stick it in your eye. Americans have to be protected from themselves.

If handled correctly asbestos can be safe.. as long as you dont make airborne fibers.

Asbestos isn’t dangerous if it’s encapsulated. It’s only dangerous, just as many other substances are dangerous, only if it’s improperly handled and people inhale it. Properly handled and excapsulated, and kept that way, it’s a very useful mineral and shouldn’t be banned.
